Professor T A Chowdhury – renowned Gynecologist of the country chaired a Continuing Medical Education Program (CME) on various aspects of Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) at Labaid Specialized Hospital auditorium on 19^th August 2008 at 12:30 pm. The CME program was jointly organized by Labaid IVF Centre and Dept. Of Academic Affairs, LSH in association with State University of Bangladesh. The program was attended by a number of country’s renowned Infertility Specialists and physicians of Labaid Hospitals (Labaid Specialized Hospital & Labaid Cardiac Hospital). A lively interactive discussion followed the presentations. It marked 29^th CME, sponsored by Interhealth & Devices Ltd. in the ongoing efforts of Labaid to enlighten physicians through updated knowledge and exchange of views.

Dr. Mahbubor Rahman, MBBS (DMC), MCPS (Medicine), MD (Cardiology), Consultant Cardiologist, Labaid Cardiac Hospital delivered a lecture on wide spectrum pharmacological superiority of a new anti-hypertensive drug ‘Olmesartan’ before the physicians of Labaid Hospitals (Labaid Specialized Hospital and Labaid Cardiac Hospital). Dr. Rahman started off with briefs on Hypertension Management Guidelines advocated by American and British Hypertension societies. He then proceeded on to enlighten the physicians with pros and cons of ‘Olmesartan’ in the management of Hypertension. Dr. Abul Hasnat A Quddus (Mahbub), MBBS (IPGMR), FRCS (Edin), Specialist Vascular Surgeon, South Manchester University Hospital NHS Trust talked about scopes, opportunities and applications of Vascular Surgery in Bangladesh in view of the tremendous development of this specialty throughout the world. The deliberation was presented before the physicians of Labaid Hospitals (Labaid Specialized Hospital and Labaid Cardiac Hospital). The program was arranged by The Dept. of Academic Affairs, Labaid Specialized Hospital (LSH) in association with State University of Bangladesh at 12:30 p, on 22^nd July 2008 at LSH auditorium. It was 26^th CME (Continuing Medical Education) designed to enrich the physicians of Labaid Hospitals with latest updates in medical sciences, especially on topics that they face frequently. The Dept. of Academic Affairs of Labaid Specialized Hospital (LSH) held a CME (Continuing Medical Education) program on 'Recent Surgical Management of Urinary Stone Diseases' in association with State University of Bangladesh - a concern Labaid Group in the LSH auditorium on 13th May 2008 at 12:30 pm. Dr. Md. Jahangir Kabir, MBBS, FCPS, FRCS, Head of the Department of Urology, LSH was the speaker. Prof. Dr. M Khademul Islam, Advisor & Chief Consultant, Dept. of General & Laparoscopy Surgery, LSH and Prof. Dr. M A Wahab FRCS, Former hair, Dept. of Urology, BSM Medical University (Former IPGMR) graced the occasion as  Chair and Chief Guest accordingly.

The CME program was attended by Senior Consultants, Consultants, Registrars and Medical Officers of Labaid Specialized Hospital and Labaid Cardiac Hospital. ACI Pharmaceuticals sponsored the program. It may be mentioned that it was the 18th CME program arranged by the Dept. of Academic Affairs, LSH in association with State University of Bangladesh including two international CMEs.
